Since I live in a place with fair weather and have a spacious back yard and an easy-going landlord, I might as well plant a garden. All the folks at church have either a vegetable garden or a farm and they insist it is simple. After picking through some gardening books at the library and a great one my thoughtful Grandpa sent me, I've decided on vegetables that are both hardy and tasty: beans, peppers, okra, and tomatoes. Anyone reading this who knows a thing or two about growing veggies, please comment with any tips you may have.

use miracle grow on those tomato plants. alex did that last year and had monsterous plants with scores of tomatoes. also, an old couple at our church told us to buy a couple toy snakes to scare away hungry animals. that's all we got.
